As you are aware, the Guernsey Rugby Association has made its own decision to dissolve. Although this was unexpected, our priorities remain the same. We are committed to supporting young players and providing a clear pathway from the Academy through to our senior teams.
We’re taking some time to review how we can best continue to develop community rugby, including through the school’s programme.
Our focus is on making sure key areas like safeguarding, coaching and first aid training continue to meet RFU standards with no disruption to the programme. We’ll also be chatting with those involved to see what’s needed and how we can help. Most importantly, we’re committed to keeping rugby in Guernsey welcoming, accessible and fun for everyone of all ages.
Guernsey Rugby is in a strong place - our senior men’s and ladies’ teams and Academy are thriving. We also have some exciting events ahead, including hosting teams from Jersey and Sweden this summer and our Tag Festival will go ahead! More on this to come soon.
We’ve put together some FAQs, please find attached, to help answer any questions you may have, and of course, if you’d like to reach out, we’re happy to chat.
Thank you for being part of our rugby family. We are #OneClub and committed to the future of rugby in Guernsey.
